PROJECTS
CostOS
6
provides two storage types of Projects
Single User Projects
and
Multi User
Projects.
At any time Multi User Projects can be saved as Single User Projects and Single
User Projects can
be converted to
Multi User
Proj
ects using the Merge Utilit
y.
Single User Projects are different from Multi User Projects in that they are stored on a .cep
file, while Multi
-
User Projects are kept centrally on a server database either (SQL Server).
One of their main differences is that
Single User Projects need to be saved every time a
change is performed while
changes in
Multi
-
User Projects
are stored immediately on the
database.
2.1
Creating Multi

User Projects for Collaboration

User Projects require that an external database server
is up and running. Currently
CostOS supports the following database servers:

SQL Server 2008 and onwards

Assigning BOQ Items to Estimators
Only the user with the Administrator role is capable of assigning BOQ Items to Estimators. In
the case where Estimators are allowed
to Add Items by their own then they are automatically
becoming the estimators of the items that they create.
To see who the estimator of an Item is, you need to bring in the Estimator column as shown
in the image below:
Supposing now that you need to as
sign some items to another estimator, then the only thing
you need to do is select these items, right click and Project User Management > “estimator
name” as shown in the screenshot below:
