PipeBase Assembly Installation Guide

This document describes the procedures a CostOS user must follow in order to install or update the PipeBase Assembly in a CostOS instance.
The PipeBase assembly can be used for both CostOS 7 and 8 versions

How to Install the PipeBase Assembly

Step 1: Double-Click the "Nomitech_PipeBase_windows-x64_1_0.exe"

Step 2: Wait until the install4j Wizard's loading bar completes loading

Step 3: Click "Next" to continue

Step 4: a) Click "Next" to install PipeBase to the default installation directory (C:\ Program Files), or
b) Click "Browse" to select a different directory for PipeBase to be installed. Then Click "Next"

Step 5: a) Click/Select to Add the Assembly to a specific CostOS database
b) Click/Select to Install the PipeBase Assembly's Service
c) Click "Next"

Step 6: a) Type the PipeBase Server's Address. In the picture below we have used the localhost IP (127.0.0.1) since all CostOS essentials (DB, Server & Workstation) were installed in a single machine
Otherwise:
Click "Start," then type "CMD" and press "Enter" to open the Command Prompt window
Type "ipconfig" and press "Enter." Look for the "IPv4 Address" label
b) 6200 is the default port the service will "listen". Change it in case it is used by another service
c) Click "Next"

*NOTE: In case the port is occupied, this message will be displayed

Step 7: a) Type Database Address. That is, database's server IP and port (same with what CostOS is using) separated by : (here 127.0.0.1:1433)
b) Type Database Name. That again is the same with the one CostOS instance is using*
c) Type the credentials that the CostOS user logs in with to have access to CostOS databases
d) Click "Next"

*NOTE: To find out the name of the Master DB CostOS uses, either
a) Login to SQL Server Management Studio,
b) Open a CostOS Workstation and check the URL CostOS uses to create a new project, or
c) Locate the tomee.xml file found at CostOS Server installation folder (C:\…\CostOS_Enterprise_Server\ces\conf). Open the file with a Notepad to find CostOS Master database name.

Step 8: Click "Finish" to complete the PipeBase installation

How to Update or Install an Additional PipeBase Instance

Steps 1-2 are the same as above
Step 3(&4): a) Select installation directory (default is C:\ Program Files) to update the already installed PipeBase instance or select to install a new instance into a different directory.
b) Click "Next"

Step 5: a) Click/Select to Add the Assembly to a specific CostOS database
b) Click/Select to Install the PipeBase Assembly's Service required*
c) Click "Next"
*When updating or adding a new PipeBase Assembly to another CostOS instance that is using a different CostOS database then re-installing the Service is not required.
That is unless we want to install a brand-new service (thus different ports or even IPs and database names will be used in Steps 6 & 7). Then two different CostOS instances with different DBs could run simultaneously and so the two installed PipeBase Assemblies may run independently.

Step 8: Click "Finish" to complete the PipeBase installation/updating
