Start (double click on) CostOS Enterprise Workstation setup. To avoid possible access privileges errors, right click on the icon of the installer, select Run as administrator and use administrator credentials if it is needed.



Click on the Next button to continue.



Please read the License Agreement for 'CostOS' and click on I accept the agreement. Click on the button Next to continue.



Press Next after selecting the folder where you want to save CostOS Workstation.


 


Select language & currency and then press Next.

 


Select start menu folder and press Next. Wait for CostOS workstation to install. 

 


Choose if anyone who has access to the computer can use CostOS.

 


Click on Next to continue.



The below components are required in ordert CostOS to run. If you are not sure if any of these are installed on your machine, please tick the relevant checkboxes, click Next and wait for the selected components to be installed.

 


Choose if you want a desktop icon and press Finish.

 

Workstation command line flags

There are command line flags (or "switches") that CostOS  Workstation accept in order to enable particular features or modify otherwise default functionality.

  1. Exit any running-instance of CostOS.
  2. Right click on your "CostOS" shortcut.
  3. Choose properties.
  4. At the end of your "Target:" line add the command line flags. For example:
    • -exclusiveHost=192.168.2.28:8080
  5. Launch CostOS like normal with the shortcut.

exclusiveHost

Setup selected server hostname. The flag makes the hostname field during login non editable.
propertiesFolder

It change the name of property folder.

There is a folder in windows user home directory that application saves user properties and custom application configurations.

Suggested if there are multiple installations.

 




FAQ. 1.  Q(STEP 7) I get error messages during the waiting process. What should I do?

A. Make sure you have enough privileges to access the folder you are trying to install CostOS Workstation on. Also, there might just not be enough size on the disk, or there is someone still running CostOS Workstation.

If you are not sure about this, contact your System Administrator or IT Manager.
